“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:34, NLT).

Many of us have declared over the years, “I want the best that LIFE has to offer!” And to get the best that LIFE has to offer we try to set for ourselves a path of success in which we can find fulfillment, purpose, and be able to take care of our loved ones, our neighbors, and ourselves.

This is a noble cause, nothing wrong with that at all. But (and you knew a “but” was coming!), is “LIFE” a being that has the power to “offer” us anything? Is “LIFE” a life form that can make things happen for us? “LIFE” in and of itself cannot GIVE us anything. But to put our hopes and dreams in these kinds of terms is a safe way to keep ourselves open to ANY potential Good Vibe that might come our way. Right? But that thinking is NOT reality!

The reality is, however, God IS real and God DOES have power and authority to direct our lives when we let Him. With God, we don’t have to leave our lives up to chance, in hopes that “LIFE” will bring to us its blessings. Rather, we should desire only the blessings of God. The One who has many blessings in store for each and every one of us. Through Jesus Christ, God has MUCH TO OFFER!

The only thing that God asks of us in return is that we give ourselves to Him. Make ourselves a complete gift to Him. Whether it’s our time, our money, our talents, or our very lives, Jesus promised to us in the Bible verse above that if WE LIVE FOR HIM, then HE TAKES CARE OF HIS OWN… in EVERYTHING!

When we think of our lives here on earth, let’s not leave anything to chance. “Life” doesn’t give us God… GOD GIVES US LIFE!
