THANKFUL

I love when I just start thinking about all the great, wonderful, amazing things God has done for me in my life. How do I say it? I want to find a unique word to make it special! I want it to be different, something that really expresses what I’m thinking and feeling. I can’t seem to think of the right word; but I know I’m thankful.

Is it easy to take things for granted, I know I do it all the time. But, God‘s amazing love for us is evident every day. In the sunshine, when it rains, the sunsets, “maybe” to the cold weather, and “yes definitely” to the warm weather!

I took a trip to Florida this week to visit friends and family. And as I was there, I realized that I needed to be thankful for being able to make this trip. Beautiful sunshine, nice warm weather and the beach.

Spending time with friends, enjoying their company, catching up with what’s happening in their lives.

As for family, when they’re far away and living in different states, it’s hard. But once we’re in person, it’s wonderful. You have more time, there’s more conversation, reminiscing, it’s relaxing and enjoyable.

I know our God wants this kind of quality time with us. Time to converse with Him, reminisce with Him of all the great things that He has done in our lives, to be relaxed and just enjoy the quietness of being with our creator. To be thankful for the easiness of just being with Him.

Maybe you’re not able to get away to see your friends or your families, but God is always here. Spend some time with Him.

“And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful” (Colossians3:15 HCSB).

Thankful,
