Sometimes I find when I read a Scripture, that I smile as I’m reading because it’s touched me.

Then time passes by, and when I come upon that same Scripture I’m amazed by it again, but in a new way. In John 7:37 Jesus said “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

I’m always pleased at how the Holy Spirit prompts us to understand God’s Word differently each time we read it. It is because the Bible is truly alive. And the Holy Spirit living inside of us enables us to experience this.

As believers we are privileged to have God’s Word come alive and speak to us, no matter where we are in our lives, what season we’re in or what circumstances we are facing.  If we allow it, we open our hearts to hear what our Holy Spirit is saying to us through God‘s Word. It speaks to us. It speaks to the situations that we are in and to the current season of our lives.

As the Holy Spirit prompts us, as He does when we read God’s Word, let’s remember to share this living water with others. Allow them to experience what we have experienced: the peace, joy and love that God gives to us through his Word.

What a perfect gift to give somebody else –  the encouraging word(s) from God‘s Word.
