ALWAYS THERE

I received a card from my friend the other day with this verse:

“The Lord is the One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged” (Deuteronomy31:8, HCSB).

I find it interesting how we go through our day dealing with only what’s right in front of us. Our movements, our thinking about what to do next, thinking about our interaction with the people around us. And much of the time, we do this without any thought of what’s going on in our spiritual lives at the same time.

We become distracted by the challenges that are right in front of our faces, challenges that can sometimes be very overwhelming. Situations pop up in our lives that we haven’t planned for. We live each day by rote, as work, events that involve our family, children, friends become routine.

I re-read this card several times and was reminded how it’s become more and more apparent that God is always there in everything we do.

He is completely aware of our normal daily routine events. And He is with us when there are unexpected events as well. We don’t have to “invite” God into our day, He is already there! He’s simply waiting for us to willingly submit our day to Him.

I was happy to receive this particular card because I knew the Holy Spirit had placed my situation on my friend’s heart, and she sent this card to minister to me. I know it’s hard sometimes, maybe more often than I like to admit – to remember God is always there for us. Always there.

Let us not forget that God is in the mix every day, always. Make our Lord a daily part of your life.
