WEEKLY WORD – REST IN GOD (1/19/21)

I was thinking today…Between personal, state, country and world issues, sometimes I feel weary – do you? I think we can all agree that when 2020 went to 2021 we hoped for some peace in this world, but so far, it’s not going so well. The good news is that whether there is peace in this world or strife and chaos, we can still have rest and peace through God. He is the one to turn to and focus on in the storm.

We all need to take a rest at times, in order for God to give us the strength and courage to carry on and do His will in this world. Jesus rested and prayed and spoke to His Father, so should we.

If I have learned anything so far it is that only in God can we truly have rest and peace within so that we can handle what is going on out in the world.

This is the time to be focused and strong in our faith and to lean on God – always. HE IS OUR TRUE NORTH.

(Matthew 11:28) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

(Exodus 33:14) The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

(Ecclesiastes 4:6) Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.

(Psalm 62:1-2) Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

To God be the Glory,
