WEEKLY WORD – CHAOS (9/21/21)

I was thinking today… about chaos. The definition of chaos is “complete disorder and confusion.” God knows our world can be chaotic and so can our personal lives. It’s one thing if one area of your life is a challenge and you don’t know what to do or how to decide which way to go or how to solve it, but it’s another thing when several aspects of your life are like that, and all at once! It can feel like utter chaos!

I don’t know about you, but when I feel that kind of chaos, I feel tremendous stress and it can be hard to function and get through the day. It’s like having mud up to your waist and trying to move.

God takes chaos and creates order and peace. So, as Christians, what do we do when all is chaos? We pray to God, do our best to remedy the challenges and then breathe, calm down and let God do the rest. It is not easy to do, believe me, I know!

We have to trust that God is an expert at straightening out the chaos. Trust that He has got this. Everything around us can change and seem crazy and that’s when we need to hunker down and be with God. Remember, He is our rock and our refuge. Whatever chaos comes your way, God is always with you. He is that constant, never changing, guiding, loving, supportive, strong, powerful, protective presence. It will be okay, you will be okay, even in the chaos.

(1 Corinthians 14:33) For God is not a God of disorder but of peace – as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

(Isaiah 26:3) You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

(Psalm 29:11) The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

To God be the Glory,
