We accept Jesus as our Savior or we reject Jesus as our Savior. There is no other choice. But for those who choose Christ, we have been given the ULTIMATE HOPE.
Let us remember to make Thanksgiving less about ourselves and MORE ABOUT GIVING THANKS TO GOD and being truly GRATEFUL for who He is, what He means to us, what He’s done for us, and what He is doing, even now, for those who are FAITHFUL to HIM, in the name of Jesus.
Like the certainty of Death and Taxes, the human condition has never really changed. It just looks different than it used to. But at the core of who we are, we still need to be accepted. We need to be liked. We need to be affirmed. We need to be LOVED. These things about us have never changed!
It seems like every time we turn around these days, we see that our country is getting farther and farther away from being a country that relied upon the Bible as the core of its foundation. Christianity seems to be under attack and no one is quite sure what we should do about.
There is something to be said about studying for months and months, making the sacrifices, having the discipline to save the money, and with each step of the way KNOWING what is in store for us at the end of the journey – the land of the Bible.
There’s pressure in your marriage, pressure with your health (and high blood pressure!), pressure with the kids, and it just never seems to go away! Something’s going to give! The water pressure is crushing you from all around, you can’t catch your breath, your lungs are going to explode! WHAT CAN YOU DO?!
Do you know a “Svengali”? That one person that tries to tell you what to do, tries to tell you what is right and what is wrong, or tries to influence you by influencing those around you? These manipulators are commonly called CONTROL FREAKS.
Emotional vampires may not wear a cape or have fangs, but they can certainly hang onto us with a toxic grip. You will most likely recognize them as those who are pessimistic, relentlessly negative, lazy, time wasting, or emotionally draining.
