WEEKLY WORD – EMBRACE YOUR MISSION (4/6/21)

I was thinking today… Have you ever felt like God was calling you to do something? Did you do it? I think He does give us nudges and promptings. It may be to give food to the person holding a sign on the street or to call a friend, and it could also be to do a certain project, start a program, get more involved in church, etc.

Do you hold yourself back? Do you find yourself denying His call? I think sometimes we get too busy or we think we aren’t smart enough, experienced enough, or we’re too shy or afraid of making mistakes. I think we need to let go of all of those self-images. If God is calling us to do something for Him to further His kingdom, then who are we to deny Him that?

Step up and allow God to give you the confidence to step into that role. It’s okay to make mistakes, learn from them and do better next time. As a parent, if I want my child to do something or try something new that they are uncertain about or is a challenge for them, I am happy if they just try.

As I get older it is easy to stay in the routine of things, make excuses, get distracted, and it’s a challenge to get out of my comfort zone. For me personally, I was definitely more of a risk taker when I was younger.

To break that complacency, ask God if there is something He wants you to do to further His kingdom and glorify Him here on earth. Take a deep breath, stand tall, hold your head up high and step into that role, own it, EMBRACE IT!!!!

(Isaiah 6:8) Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here I am. Send me!”

(Proverbs 19:21) Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

(1 Peter 2:21) To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

To God be the Glory,
